The next national target is the debt sustainability

The basic aim of the government is to achieve a debt stretch up to 50 years which will reduce the service cost and release resources

The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will deal with the internal affairs of his party, New Democracy, during a meeting scheduled for today at 6 pm at New Democracy’s offices.

The discussion topic would be the first and probably the last quick assessment of the election results. The government staff believes that the election result is a political defeat of SYRIZA which failed to form the conditions for the topple of government. He will reiterate that SYRIZA lost votes, while the government despite the losses and the difficult decisions it had to make, it managed to endure. The Prime Minister will refer to individual corrections of government policy where errors, omissions and delays were found and cost him the final result.

For the government staff the next national goal is to negotiate the debt sustainability. The aim is to achieve a debt stretch up to 50 years which will reduce the service cost and release resources in order to be allocated within the country and restore injustices made to lower social classes and to boost economy and growth with liquidity injection to SMEs.

All this can be achieved without creating a risk to financial stability as government and Finance Ministry argues. This was also made clear by Mr Schaeuble’s clumsy intervention. The government, however, insists that Greece will not need a new aid program. But, if it proves that a new aid is needed, this might be the final shot to the already wounded government.
