Three bombs total in Istanbul – One explosion, two defusions

Thankfully, no victims

A bomb went off in central Istanbul, less than two weeks after the suicide attack which claimed the life of a police officer.

 

Thankfully, however, noone was injured by the explosion.

 

Meanwhile, Turkish Police defused a similar bomb in the eastern part of the city, which had been placed at the foot of a statue of Kemal Ataturk.

 

A third bomb was also defused. This one was discovered in a package and placed in a bus stop.

 

According to official information, the two defused bombs are linked to Kurdish organizations.

 

Improved Explosive Devices had also been found in two Istanbul malls and had been defused on January 11th.
