Iranian general killed during Israeli attack in Syria

According to the Jerusalem Post

Israeli newspapers claim that Tehran is on the side of Hezbollah, which fights for al-Assad’s regime. Official Israeli information also claims that after yesterday’s attack, six Hezbollah members and six Iranian soldiers were killed.

 

According to Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, amongst the six Iranian dead is an Iranian general, while the Hezbollah victims also include the son of the organization’s military leader, Imad Mughniyeh, whose father was killed in 2008.

 

The aforementioned twelve people were killed during an Israeli raid in Syria near the occupied Golan Heights.  Imad Mughniyeh’s son, Jihad Mughniyeh, was in the US Most Wanted list for attacks against Israeli and western targets.

 

According to the Jerusalem Post, two missiles launched by an Israeli attack helicopter hit a three-car convoy near the Golan Heights. This specific province have experienced fierce fighting between government forces and rebels, including Al Qaeda fighters.
