TIME: Naxos is better (and cheaper) than Santorini and Mykonos

TIME magazine proposed alternatives to iconic world-famous travel destinations

TIME magazine’s article “9 Vacation Spots That Are Better (and Cheaper) Than the Places You Want to Go” looks at less-traveled locales that have the perks of iconic destinations but have fewer tourists and are more affordable.

It suggests Naxos, Greece, instead of Santorini and Mykonos. Anchored halfway between Santorini and Mykonos, it “might as well be on another planet”. Studded with “lush mountains and valleys polka-dotted by white-washed homes, all surrounded by a ribbon of gorgeous beaches. It’s the kind of place that’s still rural enough to spot the occasional donkey trotting down a cobblestone street.”
