A very important presentation coming up for the first time from the National Opera in Athens.
The flagship project of Wagner’s “Tristan and Isolde” was enormously influential among Western classical composers and provided direct inspiration to composers.
It was composed between 1857 and 1859 and Wagner referred to the work not as an opera, but called it “eine Handlung” (literally a drama. a plot or an action).
Advance tickets for the four performances of Tristan and Isolde production, starts on Monday the 23rd of December from the Concert Hall, the National Opera and online at www. megaron.gr and www.nationalopera.gr
