Turkey renews the NAVTEX that blocks the drillings in the Cypriot EEZ!

Turkey is trying to cancel the Cypriot drilling program

Newsroom February 20 02:54

The illegal NAVTEX in the sea area of Block 3 in the Cypriot EEZ has been renewed by the Turkish authorities.

The new NAVTEX is valid until March 18th:

TURNHOS N/W: 0258/18

MEDITERRANEAN SEA MILITARY TRAININGS AND GUNNERY EXERCISES, FROM 222201Z FEB 18 TO 102359Z MAR 18 IN AREA BOUNDED BY;

CAUTION ADVISED.

With the renewal of the Turkish Navtex in Block 3 of the Cyprus EEZ, the planned drilling of ENI in the “Soupia” area is virtually canceled. The Saipem 12000 drilling rig, which has been blocked by the Turkish Navy for 12 days in the area, has a planned drilling in Morocco on March 8th and will have to depart. It still remains unknown -and it is up to ENI- whether there will be a rescheduling for a new drilling attempt at some time in the future.
