Unlimited routes per day in Athens with one euro

The travelcards costing 45 euro will be reduced to 30 – Applies to all public transportations – “Losers” those who use bus / trolley / tram

From Monday the 1st of September will take effect the changes of the OECD and the Ministry of Transport on ticket prices and cards in Athenian public transport. The aim of these pricing changes is to attract more passengers.

Specifically, under the new pricing policy establishes a season ticket for all means to the monthly cost of € 30. The card replaces all the existing ones, even the one currently  priced at 20 euro for the use of bus / trolley / tram .Therefore, the citizens of Athens will be able to move throughout the city with just one euro per day.

Further, a formula ticket for all means at a cost of 1.20 euro and 70 minutes duration is also established, which replaces
the ticket with 1.40 euro for over 90 minutes and the one-way ticket for bus / trolley / tram at a cost of 1.20 euro.

The Minister of Transportation Mr. Michalis Chrisochoïdis inter alia said: “We made a key strategic decision: One city, one network, one carrier. Not 66 municipalities but one city. Not 4 transport ways but a network. Not three group companies but a club. To implement our policy there are four basic principles: cooperation, mutual respect, decisions, work.
