Waiting for the EuroWorking Group’s decision

Greek government hopes the program review to be concluded in today’s meeting

The Greek government wants to celebrate again the conclusion of the program review, if it is approved by EuroWorking Group that will convene on Thursday at Helsinki, Finland, to decide on the release of the tranche disbursement, following Germany’s rejection.

The German Bundestag rejected yesterday the recommendation made by German Finance Ministry for the release of the first tranche to Greece claiming that all prior actions must be fulfilled by Greece before the disbursement of the tranche is approved, even though Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos continues stating that “no one disputes that the program review has been concluded “.

“The program review will formally be concluded on Thursday,” governmental sources claimed on Wednesday who are expecting to put an end to the seven-month negotiation talks which have led to dozens of new austerity measures imposed by the government.
