White House threatens Russia with new sanctions

The deputy adviser of Obama on national security issues said that Russian actions trigger the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis in a dangerous manner

Flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine characterized the White House today the entrance of the Russian humanitarian convoy, stressing that Moscow should withdraw the trucks if it does not want to incur financial penalties.

The deputy adviser to President Barack Obama’s national security Ben Rhodes, told reporters that Russian actions trigger the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis in a dangerous manner.

According to him, Washington plans to discuss the situation in the UN Security Council tonight. He stressed that if the convoy is not withdrawn, Russia will pay “additional costs”, meaning the sanctions already imposed in Moscow.
