According to police, the man — identified with a last name of Ismaitzil — had been deported to his native Albania a year ago, however, he again slipped into Greece illegally and made his way to Kalamata. The victim reportedly broke up with the gunman last Christmas. According to reports, Vahaviolou ended the relationship after learning he lied to her about his country of origin, as Ismaitzil claimed to be Italian, going by the name “Erisiano Capetano”.
