The ex-minister’s wife was convicted and is serving time for money laundering

The local police beat last week was mostly dominated by news of the escape, from a psychiatric ward, and subsequent surrender of Vicky Stamati, the wife of imprisoned ex-minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos.

Stamati herself was convicted and is serving time for money laundering.

Yet a scrum of photo-journalists and onlookers couldn’t help but notice that Vicky Stamati’s police escorts are amongst the most beautiful female officers Hellenic Police has in its ranks.
