Olympiakos scrape through in extra time

Greece will be represented in the UEFA Europa League group stages with three teams, after Olympiakos PAOK and Panathinaikos eliminated their opponents on Thursday’s 2nd leg qualifiers. Olympiakos was forced into extra time at home by Portuguese club Arouca, who managed to square the Greek side’s 1 goal advantage of the first match by an 80th minute goal. The Greek champions managed to score twice in extra time and advance to the group stage. PAOK went through on an aggregate of 5-0 after beating Georgian Dinamo Tbilisi for a second time at home with 2-0. Finally, Panathinaikos advanced with an aggregate score of 4-1, as they held Danish side Brondby to a 1-1 draw in Denmark.
