Mr. Mouzalas during an interview with private SKAI TV channel talked about the refugee influx into FYROM saying: “There are two points in this story. One is that people in Idomeni are not leaving because they expect and hope that the border will open”.

“We believe, and we have evidence, that this expectation was being cultivated by organizations which claim they are volunteers but have nothing to do with those that are actually helping and they organized their passage to Macedonia. I have the paper -the leaflet they gave them– they even scheduled a proper appointment. Police investigate the incident and we will soon have more on that,” Mr. Mouzalas said.

Calling FYROM ‘Macedonia’ caused turmoil in social media with many users commenting negatively on Twitter the statements of the minister.
