Accompanied by Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, who exchanged festive greetings with the ship’s officers and crew, Kammenos stressed the Greek armed forces were ready to defend every inch of the country. ‘We ask of all to respect international law and our borders’, said Kammenos. The Defence Minister underlined that despite the pressures put on the armed forces with salary cuts, they continue to defend the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country with high morale. He stressed that the presence of the PM on board the frigate ‘Adrias’ demonstrated that the political leadership of the country stood by the armed forces.
