The Eurogroup released a statement on Thursday welcoming the adoption of commitments by the Greek Parliament agreed upon between the nation’s government at Euro summit on Monday.
The statement says that the EU institutions have positively assessed the Greek government’s actions to move forward with the four set of measures in a timely and overall satisfactory manner.
The positive statement was expected after the European Commission’s spokesperson had earlier on Thursday commented in a similar light on the Greek government’s actions.
The statement is another step in a series of stages needed before Greece can enter into talks with for a 3-year new bailout plan in exchange for a set of harsh austerity measures and deep reforms in the debt-wracked country. The statement did not include any reference to a 7 bln-Euro bridge loan for Greece.
