European Commission spokesperson for Economic and Financial Affairs Annika Breidthardt told the press, Friday, there could be no forecast as to when a deal would be achieved between Greece and the institutions. The spokesperson said the Commission would continue to cooperate with the Greek authorities for a ‘complete political solution reflecting the letter and the spirit of the agreement reached last July’. She added the Commission believed all the preconditions for a deal soon were present. She underlined that 99% of the prerequisites had been agreed upon, with the only outstanding matter being the contingency measures. On the matter of a possible EU Summit meeting she reiterated the position of Donad Tusk that more work is needed by the EU Finance Ministers on the Greek issue.
