In an interview with German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung that will be published on Monday, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said that a joint Greek-German Committee of experts should be established to discuss the issue of WWII reparations that Greece claims from Germany.
FM Kotzias said to the German newspaper that he is more in favor of a political solution to this issue, than a legal one, and that the two sides must find a way to discuss reasonably.
With regard to the Greek debt, Kotzias spoke of a “haircut” without making specific demands. He also described Chancellor Angela Merkel as a “very reasonable person who wants to safeguard the future of Europe.”
