Berlin dismisses speculation over 3rd aid package to Greece

German Ministry of Finance is unaware of a 30-50 billion aid package to Greece, as Spanish Minister of Finance indicated

“There will be no talks of a third aid package to Greece during the Eurogroup”, the German Ministry of Finance representative Martin Giegker said, while commenting on the latest statements of Spanish Minister of Finance Luis de Guindos, who claimed there was planning in the works for a new Greek bailout worth 30-50 billion euro.

Furthermore, Giegker stressed that whats important at the moment is the successful completion of the current program, which is essential in order to pave the way for the payment of the outstanding funds. “Other than that, a third program is not in the agenda. Mr. Tsipras has clearly stated before that Greece does not want a third package”, added Wolfgang Schauble’s representative.
