The Eurogroup meeting in Brussels on Monday ended in failure after the radical leftist Greek government flatly rejected a draft text circulated earlier by its eurozone partners.

The Greek government charged that the text was essentially an implementation of the previous Memorandum.

Earlier, a senior government official said:

“The persistence of some to force the new Greek government to implement the Memorandum is absurd and unacceptable. The implementation of the memorandum program was removed from the table at the (EU) summit (last week). Those who keep citing it are wasting their time. Under these circumstances there can be no agreement today”.
