Movie opened across UK theatres

Greek movie ’Suntan’ managed to win the best movie award in the 70th Edinburgh Film Festival. The movie, directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos and starring Makis Papadimitriou and Elli Trigou, was received exceptionally by the Scottish audience and the judging panel. The judging committee said there were many good movies, but ’Suntan’ presented the portrait of a middle aged man, played exceptionally by actor Makis Papadimitriou, and managed to capture his journey from erotic infatuation to despair, which resonated with the panel’s members. ‘I would like to thank the great people of the festival and the judging panel. I could not be happier’, said an elated Papadimitropoulos. The movie was shot on the island of Antiparos and follows a lonely, sensitive 42 year old man, whose life is turned upside down when meets and falls in love with a 19 year old tourist (Elli Trigou). The movie premiered in theatres across the UK.
