An 82-year-old woman from the Greek island of Kefalonia has entered the Guinness World Records as the oldest windsurfer in the world. Anastasia Gerolymatou, 82, on August 24, 2019, crossed the eighteen nautical miles of the Ionian Sea on her windsurfer in a nonstop trip of just six hours, after dreaming of this moment for forty years. According to the official website of the Guinness World Records, Anastasia Gerolymatou is now officially the oldest windsurfer in the world.

“I am very happy, I still feel strong to do the Kefalonia – Zakynthos crossing that did not take place due to weather. The message I want to send is to chase your dreams and never give up,” she told protothema.gr.

So, with the encouragement of my friends and family, I decided to register for my entry in the book of world records” Anastasias pointed out to protothema.gr.
