Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis could be defending himself in a formal way, and not through the pages of international media, as the Supreme Court of Greece Tuesday forwarded two law suits filed against him to the Greek parliament. The law suits are not associated with Varoufakis’s infamous code-tax-hacking- ‘Plan B’, but are two separate legal actions taken against him by former actor- turned politician Apostolos Gletsos and lawyer Panagiotis Giannopoulos who accuse him of ‘high treason’ and irrevocable damage to the Greek economy and endangering the national security of the country. According to Greek law, legal matters pertaining to Greek ministers are not examined by proper courts of law, before the Greek parliamemnt refers them to the normal judiciary channels.
