Hundreds of local residents witnessed the brutal execution, but could not do anything about it

Fighters of the terrorist group Islamic State have publicly burned 19 Yazidi women, said local activists in Mosul.

The women were burned alive in iron cages because they refused to have sex with ISIS militants, local media activist Abdullah al-Malla told ARA News.

Hundreds of local residents witnessed the brutal execution, but could not do anything about it, he added.

The horrific execution of the women was said to have taken place in Mosul in northern Iraq.

A photo was published on the Internet showing the women being held in the cage while being transferred around the city before their execution.
