Citizens Protection representative Dimitris Georgoulopoulos confirmed the death of the woman at Ponti, speaking with protothema.gr. The woman lost her life after a huge rock boulder struck a wall of her house down following a landslide triggered by the earthquake. She died after a fatal blow to the head.

Protothema.gr was also told from regional authority  Dionysis Halikias that another woman had lost her life at Athani.

Other sources speak of a woman seriously injured at the village of Athani, near the quake’s focal point.
