Jim Morrison died on July 3, 1971 at the age of 27. According to the official story of his death, his body was found by his girlfriend Pamela Courson in the bathtub. No autopsy was ever conducted, because the doctor who examined him said he found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. This fact gave rise to much speculation about the cause of his death.

Forty-three years after the death of the rock star, the now 67 year old Marianne Faithfull reveals that her then boyfriend, a heroin dealer named Jean de Breiteuil gave the Doors frontman the lethal dose that killed him.

“He went to see Jim Morrison and killed him. I mean I’m sure it was an accident. Poor bastard. The smack was too strong? Yeah. And he died. And I didn’t know anything about this. Anyway, everybody connected to the death of this poor guy is dead now. Except me,” she told The Independent.

Faithfull revealed in the same interview that when de Breiteuil went to visit Morrison for what would be the last time, she could have gone with him but she decided to skip the trip.

“I could intuitively feel trouble. I thought, I’ll take a few Tuinal and I won’t be there”, said the talented singer.
