“Play me, I'm yours”: Ten pianos for public use on the streets of Nicosia

The initiative began in 2008 in Birmingham, UK and has been embraced by 44 cities around the world

Newsroom July 1 12:40

Ten pianos will be placed on public places in Nicosia from 17 to 26 October, which can be used by the passers-by, as the initiative “Play me, I’m yours” encourages us. The pianos are expected to arrive in a few days in Cyprus from Holland.

This is an initiative of the Cultural Organization Avantgarde which is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus.

The initiative began in 2008 in Birmingham, UK and has been embraced by 44 cities around the world. It is estimated that up to date 5 million people have played piano on the streets.

The pianos were painted by 12 artists and after the end of the event they will be provided in homes for children, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other places where there is a need for support, encouragement and entertainment.
