Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to meet with French President Francois Hollande on February, 17 in Paris, according to reports.

Mr. Tsipras is trying to convince European leaders to intervene so as troika would restrict its pressure to Greek government and its demands regarding the imposition of new strict austerity measures, and particularly its requirement for main pension cuts.

Greek Prime Minister attempts to politicize the negotiations with the lenders, since he realizes that the troika does not understand the fact the Greek society cannot afford further reductions and additional taxes and that by its firm stance it puts the implementation and success of the program into risk, since the pressure put on the Greek government threatens the political stability and provokes the social reaction.

Mr. Tsipras has already began political negotiations by meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in London and raised his concerns on the issue.

According to government sources, after that meeting the lenders gave informally the “green light” to the Greek government to release its ‘parallel program’.

Mr. Tsipras hopes that Mr. Hollande will have an even more positive stance and help in restricting troika’s and IMF’s pressure on Greek government.
