Scenes from… Kabul: Migrants clash on Lesvos

Late night reports on Sunday: Authorities estimate some 11,000 migrants, refugees etc. camped out on isle!

The situation in the capital of Lesvos island, Mytilene, was explosive on Sunday morning after groups of third world nationals clashed between them exactly outside the coast guard headquarters.
The foreign nationals, mostly young men, have arrived illegally on Lesvos (Lesbos) island from the opposite Turkish coast by exploiting the flow of Syrian nationals towards Europe to seek refugee status. Groups of illegal migrants from as far away as Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have inundated several Greek isles.
On Sunday, several men ripped off the metal fences and started chasing each other with the steel bars. Two head injuries were reported.
What’s also noteworthy from the video footage shot is the fact that there is no police presence in site during the melee.
