Spanish PM M. Rajoy was punched ahead of Spanish general elections being held on Sunday with Rajoy’s ruling People’s Party expected to win

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy was punched in the face by a teen who caught him by surprise during an event in Pontevedra. The young man, aged 17,  punched him hard and knocked his glasses off.
Rajoy was not hurt said a People’s Party Spokesperson but he later appeared with a deep red mark on his face.
Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, speculated that the attacker, who was arrested by the police, could have been linked to a Galician separatist movement or be a Pontevedra football club fan.
