Spiegel: “Greece suffers from nepotism and corruption”

In the German magazine's recent issue

Newsroom March 11 07:48

German magazine “Spiegel”‘s recent issue is titled: “Fighting Corruption: Greek officials are inept”. The publication states that “Greece suffers from nepotism and corruption”.

“Previous government tried to combat the problem in a… ‘lukewarm’ manner”, states Spiegel and describes the way that the Lagarde list which contains names of hundreds of tax evaders was kept in the dark. Spiegel also mentions former FinMin Yiorgos Papakonstantinou who is under trial for “tampering with evidence and removing the names of his relatives from the document”.
