Strange animals you didn’t know exist (photos)

Some are very dangerous

Newsroom October 26 11:58

In the past we presented some animals thought to have only existed in myths and legends of past ages, or in our scariest nightmares. Continuing in our quest to discover the out-worldly and strange that inhabit the animal kingdom, we give a list of some animals you might never have heard of.

1. The Penis Snake

pen1
The penis snake is a real thing that exists on your planet. They are harmless, a bit cute, and sexy.
2. The Thorny Dragon

pen2
The probability of finding and seeing one of these in your life is very low. But if you ever see one, steer clear of it!
3. The red-lipped batfish

pen3
Among this creature’s talents are its ability to swim and look very sexy…
4. The Pacu Fish

pen4
Don’t confuse fish with the skull. The white one is the fish and the thing in black is the skull.
5. The Panda Ant

pen5
Looks like a tiny panda, doesn’t it?
Now you don’t have to go all the way to China to see a real panda. The funny thing is that this remarkable insect is actually not an ant but a wingless WASP.
6. The Hummingbird Hawk-Moth

pen6
This creature is not as cute as the real hummingbird but who cares. It is still a hummingbird and it hums.
7. Le Aye Aye

pen7
A perfect animal to be taken as a hero in the next blockbuster horror movie. Yes, this looks really scary. Not sure if it eats or drinks blood. This  Madagascar primate native combines rodent-like teeth that perpetually grow and a special thin middle finger.
8. The Venezuelan Poodle Moth

One of the strangest moths you will ever see. There is one thing that is great about moths, they are really colorful and stylish. This new species was discovered in 2009.
9. The Lowland Streaked Tenrec

pen9
A tiny Tenrec which looks like a rat or maybe like a bat. It is not commonly seen so this is the first and the last time you are seeing one. This also found in Madagascar.
10. The Bush Viper

pen10
Elegant and colorful. Yes, it is a real snake.
Interestingly, the average life of these bush vipers is as high as 20 years.
