If you are a Swedish citizen and you were born after 1999 you will serve a military service of 11 months.

The military service was abolished in 2010. Now with the new geopolitical conditions deteriorating and some countries feeling threatened by Russia they realize that one has to take care of its defense capabilities all the time, as they are not something you can built in short notice.

The military service will be back this summer and the main political parties have agreed on its necessity.
