Five dead at a mall in Washington

In addition to the people fatally shot, one male sustained life-threatening injuries and one female sustained non-life threatening injuries

Four women and one man were fatally shot on Friday night in the US, when a gunman armed with a rifle started shooting at a shopping mall about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington State. The shooting occurred at Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, before 7 p.m. local time. In addition to the people fatally shot, one male sustained life-threatening injuries and one female sustained  non-life threatening injuries, a public information officer with Washington State Patrol said.

The male victim with life threatening injuries was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and “most likely will pass away,” while four of the victims were found in the women’s Macy’s store.

As of 10:00 p.m. local time, police were still hunting for the suspect. The officer described the shooter as a “Hispanic male wearing grey,” who was last seen walking toward Interstate 5. In a subsequent tweet, the officer with Washington State Patrol tweeted a photo of the suspect, writing “Here is the shooter. We believe just one shooter … Armed with rifle.
