Turkish businessmen detained in Russia

The court fined each of them 4,000 Russian rubles and ordered 10 days of detention

A group of 60 businessmen attending a business fair in Krasnodar were detained by Russian authorities, as Hurriyet newspaper reports.,

Russian authorities detained them because they attended the business fair on tourist visas.

Cenk Baykara, one of the businessman in the group, told CNN Türk that Turkish businessmen were able to attend business fairs with tourist visas because of the visa agreements between the two countries, and that this was the first time they were given such treatment in Russia.

The incident took place one day after the downing of the Russian jet by Turkey.

After staying in a prison for a day, the businessmen reportedly appeared in court on Thursday morning.  The court fined each of them 4,000 Russian rubles and ordered 10 days of detention.
