Turkish pilots violate Greek airspace

Six Turkish F-16 fighter jets entered Greece

Turkey proceeded to a major challenge just a few days after Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’s tweet on nervous pilots.

Six Turkish F-16 fighters entered Greece on Tuesday at 15:01 and flew over four Greek islands, Fournoi, Makronisi, Anthropofagoi and Agathonisi.

As the Greek Ministry of National Defence announced, 6 Turkish fighter jets entered Athens FIR between Lesvos and Chios at 15:01.

– At 15:25 4 of them flew over Fournoi at 4,000 feet

– At 15:27 2 of them flew over Makronisi and Anthropofagoi at 8,500 feet and 8,200 feet respectively and at 15:29 over Agathonisi at 8,100 feet.

Then, 4 fighters exited Athens FIR at 15:28 and two fighters at 15:30 respectively

All the Turkish aircrafts were identified and intercepted, according to international rules and established practice.
