Millions of people living in Britain were treated to a stunning spectacle of beauty in the skies on Sunday. They were lucky enough to observe one of the most amazing celestial phenomena ever, the North Selas, or as it is scientifically known the ‘Aurora Boraelis’. These magnificent natural light displays produced at the ends of the earth’s poles, can are visible in high altitudes. Auroras are produced when the magnetosphere (the space surrounding astronomical objects in which energy charged particles are influenced by the objects’ magnetic field) is disturbed enough by solar winds so that the charged particles precipitate in the upper atmosphere.
