Varoufakis’ many faces: When the FinMin was a hooligan (video)

The Radical Left Coalition Finance Minister not only wrote for Protagon.gr, headed by the Potami leader, but he was willing to be a hooligan for it, too

Images of Greece’s new Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis rocking through Downing Street, with an open-necked shirt not tucked in, or showing him grinning impishly at a press conference with stale Dutch Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem have made international headlines. Clearly, Varoufakis style is seen as brash, bold and full of bravado.

There’s more to the “accidental economist”/whirlwind Finance Minister than meets the eye. Footage of Greece’s top finance chief portraying a hooligan show yet another face of the man who is full of surprises. The video is an advertisement for the Protagon website – headed by journalist Stavros Theodorakis – that Varoufakis once wrote for.

Theodorakis went on to be the head of the centrist Potami party, and Varoufakis went on to become Greece’s Finance Minister. All that remains is this video…
