Venizelos accuses Papandreou for miserable introspective movements causing instability

PASOK replies to former Prime Minister's proposal for a conference and election of new president

Newsroom November 22 10:36

Following Mr. Papandreou letter to the President of PASOK yesterday, the press office of the party announced among other  that all decisions relating to the founding convention of the Democratic side have been taken by the party members, while “unfortunately that wasn’t the case before the big turn of May 2010, or before the first governmental cooperation with ND and LAOS on November 2011 “.

According to the announcement PASOK with all the forces of the wider area of the Democratic Progressive Line heads towards the programmatic congress of the party in January 2015.

Operates in accordance with institutions, organizations, emblems, authorities and the Parliamentary Group which acts collectively and democratically.

PASOK operates and works with respect to all the forces of the wider area of the party even if they do not belong organizational to PASOK but respect it.

More specifically on Mr.Papandreou’s letter, the announcement states that the former Prime Minister’s formulation for a need of PASOK to conduct a conference instead of promoting procedures and bringing together all forces, is neither new nor novel.

Among other the announcement continues by saying that the country should elect with consensus in February for the new President of the Republic.

The country needs stability and national time to regain its rightful place in Europe and implement comprehensive the national reconstruction plan.

Further, the announcement notes the implicit assurance made by Mr. Papandreou that he will implement his obligations arising from his status as a member of PASOK until the end .

Mr. Papandreou is obviously entitled and must formulate his views in the above organizational and political contexts that have shaped the collective bodies of PASOK.

But the framework in which the democratic party of PASOK moves and the primary context in which our country operates, is something that we will not allow anyone to disturb.
