English, Germans and Italians the most frequent visitors to Greece

According to an online poll conducted by holiday website ‘Trivago.gr’, Santorini, Corfu and Crete are the most popular holiday destinations for foreign travelers, while visitors have shown an increased interest in the islands of Zakynthos, Skiathos and Kos. The beautiful island of Santorini is unsurprisingly the top choice for foreign tourists to spend their holidays for the summer of 2016, with the Italians, English and Germans picking it the most out of those that took part in the online poll.

Corfu is also in the top, with the Ionian island preferred by English, Italians and Poles the most. Germans, English and Italians have Crete on the top of the list of preferences, while the same nationalities also choose Greece’s most cosmopolitan island, Mykonos.

Serbs and Italians pick the island of Kephalonia, which comes in as the 8th most popular island. Italians were those who chose Greece as a regular holiday destination, followed by the English and Germans. The Swedes and French were in 5th and 6th spot, respectively, regarding their preferences to Greek islands. Russians and Austrians wrapped up the top ten list of nationalities that preferred Greece as aa holiday destination for 2016.
