Who shot the celebrity hairdresser and his wife?

Police are collecting genetic material and examining CCTV footage

Newsroom February 2 11:04

Greek celebrity hair stylist Panos Kallitsis is in a serious condition but out of immediate danger three days after an attack against him inside his own garage. The police are still trying to solve the mystery of the shooting following the testimony of his wife Elena Christopoulou, a famous make-up artist.

Kallitsi told police from his hospital bed that the attackers were not Greek, had covered their faces and appeared to panic after he pushed down the lock and started his car engine in an attack to reverse from the garage and escape.

One of the attackers was at the driver’s door whereas the other stood on the other side. The first bullet was aimed at the front passenger seat, resulting in light injury of Christopoulou on her arm. However the other bullets struck Kallitsi on the chest and legs. There were five 7.65 inch shells from a 32-inch gun found in the garage.

Police believe that the attackers did not intend to kill the couple, however it is possible that the masked gunmen may have wanted to take Kallitsi and his wife as hostages as they had rope with them. Their intent may have been to tie the couple up while going on a burglary spree inside the house.

The investigation is currently centered on genetic material gathered from the house as well as security cameras of the traffic police.
