Two dead and 18 injured inmates were the toll of a prison melee on Sunday evening at the Korydallos facility, reportedly involving a gang of Albanian and Arab prisoners, on the one hand, and Pakistani nationals, on the other.
The incident occurred in the near-Piraeus prison’s third wing, which mostly houses felons.
The bodies of the two victims were transferred to the prison’s infirmary. No information was given as to their identity or nationality.
