The ship ” Prevelis ” did not manage to reach the port of Kasos as the captain informed on Sunday early in the morning due to bad weather and continued its route to port of Karpathos.
25 passengers and six trucks were due to debark and six passengers and a truck were waiting in Kasos to embark.
The ship departed from Santorini on Saturday at 3:30 pm with 78 passengers, eleven trucks, ten vehicles and three motorcycles.
It should be noted that the ship “Prevelis” had sailed from the port of Piraeus at 18:00 pm on Friday to perform the route Piraeus – Milos – Santorini – Anafi-Heraklion-Sitia-Kasos-Karpathos-Diafani-Halki-Rhodes.
On Saturday the ship grounded on the rocky islet Aspronisi, while the causes of the grounding are not yet clear. The preliminary investigation undertaken by the Port Authority of Santorini is expected to give some answers.
