The restructuring of Alpha Bank continues and the bank’s administration is ready to close 55 more branches trying to streamline the cost following the mergers. The 35 branches concern branches in Greece whereas the 20 concern branches in countries of South-east Europe.
It should be noted that last year Alpha Bank closed 93 branches in Greece and reduced its staff by 295 employees.
The goal of further reducing costs by about 220 million will be achieved by 54% from staff retirement in Greece, by 23% from cost reduction in Greece which do not concern wages and the remaining 23 % from optimizing activities in South-east Europe.
