Rethymno, the third largest city of Crete, is, without doubt, a Mediterranean paradise with strong tourism infrastructure, plenty of attractions, numerous sandy beaches and a long Greek summer, as it claims the most days of sunshine in the country.

This amazing place is blessed by nature, as it is surrounded by the deep blue sea and the majestic slopes of Mount Ida (known as Psiloritis in Greece), that offer a variety of routes leading to the hinterland of the region. There you will be welcomed by the warm locals and experience Greek hospitality at its best. In the heart of the city of Rethymno (Palia Poli), you will encounter one of the best preserved old cities in the Mediterranean. A patchwork of influences from the cultures that coexisted here endows the city with a unique mix of renaissance, Venetian and Ottoman elements, that give Rethymno its unique character.
Take a walk in the historic center
Rethymno , a city that has developed a reputation for being a centre of arts and culture, still bears traces of its 4,500 years old history. Its multiple conquerors fell in love with this beautiful place over the centuries, dedicating several monuments, buildings and temples of unique beauty and splendor to the city. Visit the city’s Venetian-era citadel, the Fortezza, the Venetian Loggia, the Church of St. Francis and the numerous mosques (Neratze, Kara Musa Pasha) as well as important museums with exhibits from several cultures.
The town of Rethymno offers guests a well-organized and pristine sandy 18 km beach, located at the northeast part of the city, where you will enjoy swimming, dining and drinking with the blue waters of the Cretan Sea as a background.
