The man, a retired military doctor, was pulled out of the sea senseless. He was currently on holiday in the town of Eretria, Evia, Greece.
Every effort of recovery failed, so he was then transported to the hospital of Halkida for post mortem procedurals, according to lamiareport.gr.
The authorities recorded the incident as drowning.
However, late in the afternoon when they contacted a relative of the ”deceased”, they were stunned to hear that he had recovered, or better put, resurrected, after persistent CPR attempts by Halkida hospital doctors.
Afterwards, the senior citizen who managed to trick death, was transported to the Red Cross hospital in Athens, where he still remains.
Thus, the Coast Guard and the Police revoked the official drowning statement, as the senior swimmer came back to life.
