Government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi on Monday, responding to speculations that the government will propose Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis for president, said that the government has not decided yet on its candidate for President of Hellenic Republic.
“SYRIZA has brought up the issue hoping that it would lead to early elections. We will not follow SYRIZA. We have our own agenda and our own priorities,” Voultepsi told VIMA FM, adding that it is very early to open the issue.
On the antiracism bill and the postponement of its tabling in parliament, Voultepsi said that it will be tabled, discussed and voted next week adding that “a series of amendments have been tabled and the Justice Minister wants to examine them. This, I believe is the proper and democratic procedure.”
