Maximos Mansion: The 8th of December is a milestone post memorandum day

Government sources refute deadlock in talks with Troika - Gikas Hardouvelis, Yiannis Stournaras and Christos Staikouras were present in the meeting Samaras-Venizelos - Next debt discussions in Washington

In view of the governments vote of confidence, tonight Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras met with Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Evangelos Venizelos.
Also present in the meeting were Minister of Finance Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis, Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Yannis Stournaras and the commander of the Bank of GreeceMr. Yiannis Stournaras.
During the meeting the issue of debt was raised and in particular the visit of Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis to the International Monetary Fund in the coming days, where he will meet the general director of the IMF, Ms Christine Lagarde.
However, from the Maximos Mansion was stressed that the negotiations with Troika were made in a positive climate, fending that way all kinds of speculations about discussions between the government and representatives of the lenders been in deadlock.
According to the same sources, debt nagotiations which began informally in Paris and formally in Berlin will continue in Washington, during the visit of the economic team, led by Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis and Mr. Yiannis Stournaras.
As the Greek Sunday newspaper ” PROTO THEMA” revealed, the 8th of December is a milestone post memorandum day.
