A Dutch tourist was sentenced to eight months in prison without parole in Herakleion, Crete, after he attacked and struck a tour guide at the archaeological site of Knossos. The tourist was with a group and, for a reason that remains unknown, asked to change tour guides before punching his own tour guide. Eye witnesses say that the punch was strong and hurt the guide who had to be rushed to the hospital after losing three teeth and having to get eight stitches on his lip.
The police rushed to the area after being called by the guard at the archaeological site. The Dutch tourists insisted that he didn’t hit anyone and that the accusations were groundless, but the court was not convinced by this.
