Samos: Increased security measures for Ebola due to immigrants

Pathologists of the hospital in Samos conducted briefing sessions in order to give guidance to port and police authorities

Newsroom October 17 09:02

In Samos the security measures to address potential cases of Ebola have increased.
Already, the pathologists of the hospital conducted briefing sessions in order to give guidance to port and police authorities.
According to a statement of the manager of the hospital Mr. Giorgos Ragousis:” The fact that we must appear reassuring, does not mean that we should not be prepared in case of a possible outbreak. In addition we formed a special isolated area in our hospital, in case we receive a possible case of Ebola, so we can reduce the possibility of virus transmission, and afterwards the patient to be transferred to the “Amalia Fleming” hospital in Athens, which is the main reception place for possible outbreaks”.
Further, the Lawyers Association through an announcement referred on the issue and expressed its concern, due to the daily arrival of irregular immigrants to the island.
