After the conclusion of the second vote for the election of a President of the Republic, Democratic Left (DIMAR) leader Fotis Kouvelis made the following statement:
“The deputies’ refusal to vote for the government’s candidate translates into their refusal to contribute to the continuation of the current policies. It’s time for society to turn the page.”
With regard to the latest developments in the parliamentary group of DIMAR, i.e. the fact that deputy Niki Founta decided to resign and turn independent a few hours before the election, Mr. Kouvelis daid that “We all must follow our own path.”
